Last Friday October 9 masses of flights were canceled in Florida. According to The Federal Aviation Administration the flight cancellations were due to “severe weather, active military training in the airspace, and unexpected limited staff” at the Jacksonville FAA facility that handles air travel. The FAA released an official statement on Twitter.

The FAA has not responded to inquiries about the reasoning behind the shortage of staff. But news made the rounds on Twitter. A tweet arose from @ThomasBSauer of a screenshot from an apparent trusted source–claiming that shortage was due to vaccine mandate protests. According to the screenshot text conversation, 650 flights were cancelled at JAX. Dr. Jordan Peterson quoted Tom Sauer’s tweet inquiring his audience about the validity of the claim, and when scanning the responses, it seems the public malaise agrees with Sauer.
